Non-synthetic lubricants aren’t always the right solution. In applications with extremely high or extremely low temperatures or very heavy loads, synthetic lubes may perform better than non-synthetic versions. For example, synthetic gear oil would provide exceptional protection in heavily loaded gearboxes exposed to temperature extremes. Another example is synthetic motor oil (or synthetic engine oil), which would provide better viscosity stability in extreme temperatures.
The performance benefits offered by synthetic lubes vary from product to product. They include high viscosity index, improved thermal stability, better oxidation resistance, improved low-temperature properties, lower evaporation losses, a lower tendency to form residues and reduced flammability.
LE offers synthetic lubricant options in several of its product categories. These synthetic oils and synthetic greases are available in a range of ISO, AGMA and SAE grades and are effective for many different types of applications.
LE additives enhance synthetic lubricant performance
LE’s synthetic lubricants contain special additives that further enhance their performance. Depending on what LE formulated a particular lubricant to do, these additives include one or more of the following.
Monolec® is LE’s proprietary wear-reducing additive, which vastly increases oil film strength and allows opposing surfaces to slide by one another, g reatly reducing friction, heat and wear.
Almasol® is LE’s proprietary solid wear-reducing additive, which is able to withstand extremely heavy loads, chemical attack and extremely high temperatures. It minimizes metal-to-metal contact and the resulting friction, heat and wear.
Quinplex® is LE’s proprietary impact-resistant additive, which helps to form a barrier against corrosion and enables outstanding water resistance, tackiness and enhanced mechanical stability.
